Google’s Hardware Event & The Meaning of Hardware Debris

Back to back hardware events have given us a lot to discuss the last couple of weeks. Join us as we breakdown the recent Google hardware event and cover what we did and didn't like. In addition to that, what does the volume of all of this new hardware mean for the near and distant future?

Too Long Didn’t Listen (TLDL)

This event has recasted Google in a different light for us. It made us rethink them in terms of design and the Pixel Buds and Home Mini might have us considering turning our backs on Apple and Amazon for a brief second.

We don’t want 15+ different devices with 105+ possible different interactions and they’re not all meaningful. There is a lot of hardware debris and we are waiting for someone to consolidate and streamline it all for us.

We are starting to see some of their great ideas finally come to life. Nest integrations are allowing components to start working together for the average user and the connected home we have been waiting for.

The average home has 15 connected devices so whoever wins this game will be the ones that take this system and contain its complexity to bring it easily into the users life.
